Why now?


If you want investors for your startup, show how you're tapping into mega-trends. Startups flourish when they take advantage of these trends. Highlight how your startup is representative of these opportunities. You want to create a FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) by explaining the rising trends, the future predictions, and the evidence of why the market is steadily changing to your advantage. 

Establish a link between your startup and ongoing mega-trends to attract investors. Show how your solution is superior or more efficient. Back your claims with data.

For example, a HealthTech venture could highlight increasing mental health issues and the demand for remote counseling.


If you are lucky, you may point to evolving regulations and compliance that will make your solution mandatory. 

This slide should answer the following questions: -

  • What’s changing in your market, and at what rate?
  • Why is this happening, and what are the key factors (regulation, new tech?)
  • Is this a replacement market or a new market growing? 
  • Why has this not happened before?

Thoroughly study your target market using reliable data sources. For example, you might show competitors' growth in different geographical areas to suggest your region is up next. Combine this with personal experiences, noting demand drivers and risks.
